Sicilian roots, Piedmontese training: Carmelo Greco’s classic Italian haute cuisine in Sachsenhausen.
Falstaff Restaurant- & Gasthausguide Deutschland 2026: 91 points; Guide MICHELIN Deutschland 2026: recommended
Carmelo Greco comes from Sicily and was formed in Piedmont. Both shape the cooking of his restaurant on Ziegelhüttenweg in Sachsenhausen. For around three decades he was one of Frankfurt’s starred chefs; in the Guide MICHELIN Deutschland 2026 his restaurant is listed without a star. Falstaff rates it at 91 points in the same year, placing it among the highest-rated Italian restaurants in Germany.
The cooking is classic Italian with creative touches and carefully presented plates. Alongside the menu there are two set menus, one of them vegetarian; a house classic is the parmesan flan, and Greco also acts as an ambassador for Parmigiano Reggiano. In autumn 2026 the restaurant offers a five-course menu with aperitivo for €135. The room is modern, elegant and clearly designed, and in summer food is served on the terrace.
For company dinners and private parties, ‘La Saletta’ is a separate room for up to 20 guests between the terrace and the main dining room. The city guide ‘Frankfurt geht aus’ again ranks the restaurant first in the Italian fine dining category in 2026. The restaurant is suited to business meals as well as to guests looking for classic Italian haute cuisine with a long Frankfurt history.
Good to know: Closed on Sundays. The separate room ‘La Saletta’ seats up to 20 guests.
